City of Farley's Council Committees

Council Committees

The City of Farley has in place committees made up of the mayor and two city council members as well as selected Farley citizens. These committees are meant to collect information, meet with appropriate parties, and make recommendations and report back to the full City Council, who ultimately has the authority to act on those recommendations.

Those committees, whose members are appointed annually by the mayor, include:

BUILDINGS & GROUNDS - JARDING - KLUESNER
Review and recommend to Council all matters relating to buildings and grounds owned by the City. This includes repair, additions, elimination, purchasing or selling of any buildings or property. This also will include park grounds, buildings and equipment.

INSURANCE & FINANCE - PHILIPP- JARDING
Review and recommend to Council all matters relating to insurance and administration. This includes insurance for whole scope of city. Shall determine amount and type of insurance necessary for all buildings, vehicles and any entities related in any way to the city. Excluded from this will be employee health insurance. May , however, coordinate with personnel committee regarding said issue. May also coordinate with other committees or civic groups regarding coverage pertaining to same entity. Shall coordinate with City Clerk on finance related issues.

PERSONNEL - ERION - PHILIPP
Review and recommend to Council all matters relating to personnel employed by the city. This includes but is not limited to: hiring, dismissal, policies, performance, duty changes, benefits (including health insurance), wages. (Citizen member: Craig Breitbach)

PUBLIC SAFETY - BENDA - ERION
Review and recommend to Council all matters relating to public safety. This includes police and fire protection, sidewalks, safety programs, civil defense, ambulance. Includes traffic safety as it relates to posting signs, etc.

STREETS, SEWER & WATER - KLUESNER - BENDA
Review and recommend to Council all matters relating to streets, sewer and water. This includes repairs or replacement of streets, sewer and water lines. Policies relating to streets such as snow removal, subdivisions, type of street in the event of new or replacement, etc. Determine equipment needs, type and quantity relating to all three areas; vehicles required for street maintenance, purchasing and selling of said vehicles; water and sewer issues such as upkeep, size and type if being replaced; city fees for both water and sewer. Reviewing permits and licenses required by city to manage both.
